Women's Cowboy Boot Size Guide

Finding the right fit is the secret to boots you'll live in. Use this guide alongside the fit notes on each product page.

How to measure your foot

  1. Stand on a sheet of paper in the socks you'll wear with your boots (late in the day, when feet are largest).
  2. Trace your foot and measure from the back of the heel to the tip of your longest toe.
  3. Measure both feet and use the longer one. Compare with the chart below.

US women's size chart

Measurements are approximate and can vary slightly between styles. Always check the product page for style-specific notes.

Half sizes & in-between feet

  • If you measure between two sizes, choose the larger one.
  • If you have a wide foot or high instep, go up a half size.
  • Pointed-toe styles can feel narrower at the front — another reason to size up if you're in between.
  • Planning to wear thick boot socks in winter? Consider a half size up.

Calf width tips

  1. Sit with your foot flat and knee at 90°.
  2. Wrap a soft tape measure around the widest part of your calf.
  3. Compare to the shaft circumference on the product page. Allow about 0.5–1 inch of room if you'll tuck in jeans or leggings.

Calves over about 15–16 inches usually feel best in a wide calf style. Read our Wide Calf Cowboy Boots Fit Guide for more.

How a cowboy boot should feel

Snug across the instep, toes free to wiggle, and a small heel slip (1/4–1/2 inch) at first. Boots soften and mold to your foot over the first few wears.
